Happy birthday Gigi (belated)

Last Thursday was Gigi's birthday and unfortunately we didn't get to celebrate it very well because we all had strep throat.


Happy birthday Gigi!  We are so thankful for you!

Spring Break part 3 - Memphis

We spent the last 5 days in Memphis.  We spent a fun morning with friends from out of town (I forgot to take 1 picture) and another morning at the zoo.

We said hello to the gorillas first.

Then we fed the giraffe's. This is always a treat and something my kids really enjoy.

I think they are such beautiful creatures.

We also spent some time with the elephants.

Maggie was content for part of the time in her stroller.  She mainly wanted to be running in the opposite direction that we wanted to go.

We were all thankful to have Gigi with us to help man the troops.

That Friday night we enjoyed a fine dinner of Chickfila. Whatever it took to get through the night without daddy.

Saturday we laid low because it was raining and were thrilled to see daddy when we woke up Sunday morning. Overall it was a great Spring Break!

Zoo Lights

Uncle Toph and Gigi joined the kids and I at Zoo Lights after Christmas.  It was the only thing on my Christmas to-do list that we didn't get to so we decided to wait until Uncle Toph was in town to go.

The kids were excited to be back at the zoo and really enjoyed seeing everything at night. We started with the Ferris Wheel which both boys started out saying they didn't want to go on because they were scared but they ended up changing their minds and loving it.
Maggie started out on my back in the backpack carrier and then Uncle Toph took over carrying her. She really loves being in the carrier.

After the Ferris Wheel we walked for a while and then jumped on the trolley to head to the choo choo train.  The train is always a favorite of the boys.
We finished the night with a special treat and then headed home.  It was a great way to finish up the Christmas season.

Zoo Trip

Mom and I took the kids to the zoo two Saturdays ago.  It was a beautiful morning to be at the zoo.  It wasn't overly crowded and the animals were all out.  We had to stop at the alligator first because we had been working on Austin's school alligator habitat.

We visited with the elephants.

And spent some time with the sea lions.

We found a T-rex.  The boys were in heaven.

They roared like a T-rex and then jumped off like they were going to attack me.
We then spent some time in the bees and birds exhibit.
Austin loved the bird exhibit and feeding them.  Miller didn't really like it.  
Maggie looks like she wasn't having much fun but she was usually smiling the whole morning.  
I am so thankful for the great zoo we have in Memphis!

Fun day at the zoo

We had a fun day at the zoo with Gigi.  It was a gorgeous day and we decided to take advantage by spending time with the animals.

It seemed like the animals were enjoying the beautiful spring day as well.

Maggie enjoyed riding like a big girl in the stroller.  She only lasted a little while before she wanted to be held in the Ergo.

The dress and bonnet were mine when I was a baby.

We went to the new Sting Ray exhibit.  It was a neat experience but the boys had the chance to see and touch sting rays at the aquarium in Boston so they weren't overly thrilled.

Gigi got a big kick out of it though.

We are looking forward to more spring days at the zoo before it gets too hot to enjoy it.
