Comfort and Joy

I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will
give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.

busy, busy, busy

These 2 boys are keeping me busy, busy, busy.  They are both into so much and have so much energy.  Miller is very curious and getting into everything and Austin just doesn't stop (except to sleep).  I am worn out by them.

Austin has started sleeping less during naptimes (and at night) and let me tell you, I need him to nap for at least 2 hours.  Much less and I can't handle all the energy he has.  He wakes up in the morning and literally puts on his tennis shoes when he jumps out of bed (with his pj's still on).  He is ready to go from the moment he wakes up until he goes to sleep.  I am SOOO ready for Spring so I can send him outside to play.  He loves it out there and will play for hours.

His favorite things are to wrestle, run, jump, crash, climb, and play with his dog. I am head butted at least 50 times a day.  We are working on gentle and sitting calmly but its not working quite so well.

Miller is curious and mobile, do I need to say more.  He is into EVERYTHING.  He is teething and wants to put everything in his mouth so I am constantly searching my house for little things.
IMG_2188
He loves his big brother and does the sweetest belly laughs for him.  Everything Austin does is funny.
IMG_2198
We have already had more bloody mouths and noses than Austin (definitely not a good sign) but I think a lot of it has to do with trying to keep up with his big brother.  He doesn't have much fear.  For some reason, neither of my boys have much fear.

I am thankful for their little lives and constantly amazed that God entrusted David and I with the authority to raise them.  I know they are only mine for a short time and I am trying my best to make the most of it (but some days its just hard).

our angel

Sweet Austin has started asking about Forrest.  He will see his picture and ask "Who's that?".  I will explain to him that its his brother and he will say "brudder".

The other day we were in Miller's room (nursery for all 3 of my boys) and Austin looks up at the shelf with Forrest's special things on it and notices Forrest's giraffe.  He runs into our room and grabs the other giraffe (I still sleep with Forrest's giraffe and blanket every night) and says mommy's blanket.

We were driving in the car home from bible study and he says "My mommy".  I asked him who else's mommy am I and he says Me Mo's mommy (Miller) and Say tee's mommy (Sadie-the dog).  I tell him I am also Forrest's mommy and ask if he knows who Forrest is.  He says "brudder".

I look forward to telling Austin and Miller stories about their big brother and the huge impact he made on our lives and the lives of so many others.

Today marks 3 years and 4 months since he's been gone.  I miss him like it was yesterday.

mommy's little helper and the other baby in the mirror

Miller likes to help mommy around the house.

He found the full mirror in my bedroom the other day.  He was enamored with the other baby in the mirror.

Sleeping at the hangar

Austin spent all day Saturday with Dingdad.  Ron picked up Austin early in the morning so they could fly to Missouri for Dino pancakes.  They then flew back to Memphis, spent the morning around the hangar, went to lunch with the airport buddies, took a nap at the hangar, and then headed home in the afternoon.  He loved every minute of it.  Austin is semi obsessed with airplanes so he loves flying with Dingdad.

Moving, moving, moving

Miller not only has crawling down like a champ, but he is also pulling up.  He is a fast crawler and can pull up pretty quickly as well.  He hasn't mastered getting down once he's up though.  We have had quite a few falls trying to get down.

Everyone talks about one of their favorite stages is when the baby can sit up on their own but aren't mobile yet because you can put them on a blanket with their toys and they will stay and play.  My kids are in that stage for about a week, if that.  Once they can sit up on their own, they are off.  Miller is causing me to be more tired than Austin (hard to imagine).  He is into everything.  He giggles when you say no and move him away from whatever it is he shouldn't be playing with.  Austin gets frustrated with him because he wants all of Austin's things.

It is a very fun age though.  He is still super sweet and just smiles at you when he is on the move.

Privacy?

This may be too much information to put on the internet but I can't help it.  All moms will understand this.  I have lost all privacy.  This picture is my view from the toilet.

Precious Austin

Some pictures of my beautiful 2nd born.  He is such a sweetheart with the most precious heart.  He is a pleaser by nature and loves to help mommy and Miller.  He loves his daddy like nothing I have ever seen and wants to be with him all the time.  He is protective and loving of his little brother which makes me smile numerous times a day.  He has more energy than I have ever seen.  I truly wonder sometimes if he has forgotten how to walk because he runs everywhere.  He goes full throttle all the time until he crashes at nap and nighttime.  He loves his blanket and wants to carry it wherever he goes.  He loves trains, planes, and trucks (and anything that makes noise).  He is all boy and I love it.  I can't imagine my life without him in it.

Some of our favorite girls

Last Saturday David and I had the privilege to babysit C.C. and Kate while their parents went out to dinner with some friends. Everyone had such a fun time. We ate pizza, played, read stories, and then went to bed. Austin woke up the next morning extra early looking for C.C. and Kate. He was really sad to know that they weren't still here (their parents picked them up in the night and took them home). We are so thankful for precious friendships for our boys.

Precious brothers

One of Austin's favorite things is to run into Miller's room when he wakes up from a nap and play with him in his crib.  I took some pictures and videos of the two of them the other day.  It warms my heart to see them play together.
