This is what happens when you go over to your friends house and its all girls. You get put in a pink bib with flowers to eat dinner. It's ok, he's enough of a man to be able to handle it! =)

When Austin goes over to his grandparents house, he almost always gets a ride in the backpack carrier. He loves going on walks with his Dingdad around the neighborhood in the pack.

Jed's Birthday Party

Last Saturday Austin's good friend, Jed, had his 3rd birthday party at the Park. We went to help him celebrate.

He LOVES Sadie

Austin loves Sadie and thinks she is so much fun. I love seeing them interact together. Sadie loves to make him laugh and will keep poking her nose at him just to get a giggle from him.

lunch date

Carter came over the other day so her mommy and sister could have some time together. These 2 are the cutest together. They are 2 1/2 months apart and just hilarious. I took a couple pictures of them eating at the same time. I give props to all the mothers of twins. They both wanted their lunch at the exact same time which caused a little stress but overall we had the best time together.

He was in the best mood the other day when I went to get him up from his nap. I took a video of him having fun.

nap time shenanigans

During Austin's morning nap, I heard a bang a few times in a row. I thought at first the trash men were making the noise but then I realized it was coming from Austin's room. I was just about to go in there to wake him (we had somewhere to be) when I realized he was already awake. When I walked in, this is what I saw. My little guy had reached his hands through the crib slats, grabbed all the books on the side table and brought them into his crib for him to read. The banging was when the books hit the side of the crib and he had to turn them sideways to get them through the slats. Hilarious...some of them were on the ground because they didn't make it through the slats but 4 of them made it. As you can see, the side table is empty.

Austin's laugh is the best sound in the world. There is nothing that makes my heart sing like hearing him laugh.

2 years

Today marks 2 years since Forrest went to be with the Lord. The last few days have been hard thinking about his final days on Earth. He was doing so well and then took a turn for the worse. On Halloween I was ecstatic thinking he was close to coming home and then just a day later, he started to show signs of respiratory failure. I kept telling the staff on November 1 that something wasn't right with him. He wasn't himself and I was fearful that he had another infection. His numbers at the time looked good but I knew there was more going on. I left on that Thursday night/Friday morning (Nov. 1/2) around 2:30 am and got a call at 6:15 am that he was being put on the oscillator. I knew then that this was the end. I rushed to meet David (who had been on call at the Med) and we never left his side. We spent every minute of the next 3 days with him. We didn't eat or drink because we didn't want to leave to even go to the bathroom. The staff was incredible to us. They took such great care of our family. Forrest held on until we were ready to say goodbye. He knew he couldn't leave until his work on Earth was complete. His 55 days brought more glory to our Heavenly Father than most do in 55 years. Forrest was/is our angel. Those last 3 days were the hardest days of my life but I am so thankful that he went straight from my arms to Jesus arms. We kissed him and held him and told him what a brave, strong, courageous little boy he was.

Forrest, I love and miss you more than words can ever express. You are my sweet angel who I long to see again. Give Jesus a hug from mommy and tell him to keep me strong today.

Park

We are so blessed to live close to a wonderful park. We love strolling to it and spending time swinging and going down the slide. As you can see from the videos, little man loves the slide.

Halloween

Austin and I had a wonderful Halloween (David was on call at the Med). We missed Daddy terribly but were so excited to spend Halloween with great neighbors and friends. We headed over to our friends home for dinner and picture time and then took off in the wagon to do some trick or treating.

how i miss him

Last night I was thinking about my first Halloween as a mom. He sure was the cutest pumpkin.

What I wouldn't give to kiss and hold my little pumpkin again.
