Comfort and Joy

I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will
give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.

Five for Friday - the nursery

The nursery is almost complete and I couldn't be happier.  I am not a frilly, pink kind of girl so I went with the same bedding and furniture I had with the boys since it was gender neutral and just added some girly accents.  I love that its serene and calming.  Hopefully this will have a positive effect on her as well. =)

1.  We used the same furniture we had with the boys.  Love the piece below.  It was handmade by David and his dad before Austin was born.  Truly means so much to me.  Little keepsakes and personal things are kept up top with blankets and burp cloths in the bottom.

I found this piece of furniture at an antique shop and use it as a changing table.  (I know the picture frame is a little off center, we moved the piece of furniture yesterday and haven't had time to move the frame).

 2.  The painting was done by my friend Cortney.  Couldn't be happier with how it turned out.  Love having something with all 4 of my children represented.

3.  This is the same chair I rocked/glided Austin and Miller in and I can't wait to rock baby sister in.  We purchased the lamp and my interior designer found this great little garden stool.  We had this pillow made.

4. The curtains were left by the old homeowners but had a very heavy valance at the top. We removed the valance and added a beautiful curtain rod instead. I love the color and how they turned out. IMG_7905

5. I'm starting to pack our hospital bag and laid this out to bring her home in. I can't believe I am a month away from bringing home a precious baby girl.

One last thing in her room to remind me of what a precious gift the Lord has given me.

Five for Friday - decorating ideas

My mind is constantly revolving around finding a house.  Have I said before that finding a home 1300 miles away is hard?!?  We are all over the place in what we want and need.  I have a love/hate relationship with Pinterest when it comes to decorating.  I have found so many things that I would love to do to our future house but it's hard when you have no idea what that house will look like.  Here are 5 things I have been coveting for a future house.

1.  I would love this playroom loft for the boys. How cute is this?  Area up top to hang out with a little boy cave down below.  Love it!

2.  I love this farm dining room table with the chairs.  More my style than a real formal dining room.

3,  I would love to have a laundry room.  Something where I can hang clothes up to dry, fold clothes, and iron.  I love these next 2 ideas to seperate clean clothes and then take a basket to each persons room.

4.  I love these next 2 ideas for a future boys room.  We plan on the boys sharing a room until Austin doesn't want to anymore so I would love to do something that could grow with them and then divide easily into an individual room.

This so reminds me of my boys, especially Austin.

5. I would also love a mudroom/storage area. Something that has dividers/lockers/cubbies for each kid and for David and I. I don't like clutter so I think this would really help contain clutter.

Browsing Pinterest will be a lot more fun when we actually know where we are going to live!  Anything you have done to your house that you are so thankful for?
