Comfort and Joy

I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will
give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.

Five for Friday

1. Send in the calvary...This has been a week...especially the last 3 days.  I have 3 kids with strep throat, 1 of the 3 kids also has a respiratory infection on top of the strep throat and is on breathing treatments every 4 hours and steroids.  Steroids make him crazy so that alone is putting me in the loony bin but then I have the other 2 who are sick.  I took all three to the doctor and all 3 received shots for strep throat...it was traumatic to say the least.  It was 3 shots that are done and over with but terrible for about an hour or giving 60 doses of medicine...what!?!  I took the shots!  I don't feel my best either so at 1:30 when I got all 3 down for naps, I cracked open a Mike's Hard Lemonade because that is all I could find in the fridge that I liked.  Top all that off...3 shakes bought to bribe kids to take shots...all 3 shakes spilled in mom's car...lots of tears over shakes, lots of not kind words said by mommy that I had to ask numerous times for forgiveness for...and a husband that has worked 3 out of 4 nights this week...I need the Calvary!!!Real life: it's 1:30 and I'm already drinking. I'm too lazy to make something else so I grabbed what's in the outside fridge. 3 kids with strep throat, 1 of those kids has a respiratory infection on top of strep throat, same kid is on steroids (omg!!!), 3

2.  We had a little ice cream date last Friday after school to celebrate we had finished the week.  I love all 4 of these little kiddos! Untitled

3. We are trying to enjoy the last few days of our pool being open. I love that all 3 of mine have become quite the little fish this summer. We will miss the pool! DSC_0083

4. I LOVE our school! Untitled

5. This little guy started piano lessons this week and he loved it. Finally something for just him to do. He is my little musician so I am excited to see what God has in store for his little life.
Happy Friday...hope your day and weekend is starting off better than mine.

Five for Friday

1.  The boys have had a great first week of school.  They both love their teachers and their class which is such a blessing.  I am so thankful for Christ Methodist Day School and how they are such a well rounded school making sure to teach all areas of life while still being an academically strong school.  They are becoming a big advocate for the Forrest Spence Fund which I am so thankful for.  Each month more parents are coming to volunteer at our monthly dinners and quite a few have signed up for our race.  Truly so thankful for this school!

First Day of school

The boys both had their first day of school today.  I can't believe that I now have two kids in school.  They were both really excited to get started.

  Untitled
Miller has 2 teachers this year because they are team teaching.  Austin had Mrs. Griesbeck when he was in PK and we loved her so we are thrilled to have her and Mrs. Hayden.

After their half day we went and enjoyed a cupcake and cookie together.
Maggis started going to "school" at our church this summer.  She loves being there with her little friends.  I will now have 1 entire day without kids.  I don't even remember what that is like anymore. =)

Five for Friday

1.  Last Friday David and I enjoyed a great night at Live at the Garden with 2 of our favorite couples.  It was a perfect night weather wise and great company.  A great date night!
Enjoying a great concert with two of my favorites. @allitreadwell

2. We made a Jerry's Sno Cones run on Wednesday night...I think Maggie enjoyed her first sno-cone. You think Maggie liked Jerry's sno-cones? 3. My oldest brother just flew into Memphis for a few days before he officially moves to Nashville. We are enjoying spending time with him. Maggie has quite an affection for her Uncle Toph. Untitled

4. We tried out a music class last Friday to see if its something we want to do in the Fall. Miller is quite the musician in our family but Maggie was the one who LOVED it! Untitled

Forrest's blanket

The other day I walked into Maggie's room to change her diaper and she immediately layed down on Forrest's blanket.  My mom had been here earlier in the day watching the kids so I guess she had put the blanket down on the floor because usually it is on the ottoman.  I had to grab my phone and take a picture of her laying on her brothers blanket.
Untitled
I yelled at Austin to grab my phone for me before I missed the chance to get her on the blanket and then of course the boys wanted in on the action. They layed down on the blanket as well. I love this picture I got of my 3 babies laying on their brothers blanket. The next few pictures are real life though...not everything comes out picture perfect like we make it out to be.
It makes me smile to see these pictures but it also makes my heart hurt terribly that he isn't here taking pictures with his siblings.

Five for Friday

Five for Friday

1.  The weather has been amazing so we have been soaking it up as much as we can.  We took an afternoon bike ride on Wednesday.  I absolutely love riding bikes with Austin.  Watching my kids grow up is hard but its during moments like this one where I am riding my bike next to him that I am thrilled about seeing him grow and mature. Perfect afternoon for a bike ride. #tryingtowearthemout

2. This sweet girl LOVES to go swimming. I had to take a picture of her on Sunday in her swimsuit and with those eyes. They get me everytime. Untitled

3. Speaking of swimming, on Monday afternoon she launched herself in the baby pool and hit her chin on the side of the pool. It split right open. I rushed her to a plastic surgeons office where they dermabonded it. The next morning we woke up and she had pulled most of the glue off and it was hanging there again. I took her back in where they glued it again and put steristrips on it. It was pretty traumatic but she took it like a champ. She really is the bravest and strongest little girl I know. The side of the swimming pool vs Maggie= swimming pool won. #splitchin #dermabond

4.  The boys received enough stickers from their ticket system to receive an award.  They picked seeing the new Planes movie.  It was really cute and I highly recommend seeing it if you have boys.

5.  My birthday was on July 21 and I though it was so cool when I woke up that my watch was wishing me a happy birthday.  All day that little cake stayed on my watch.  It made me smile everytime I looked at my watch. I love that my watch reminded me all day that its my birthday! Definitely brought a smile to my face when I woke up this morning. #happybirthdaytome

Happy Friday friends!  I can't believe August is already here!!!
