Comfort and Joy

I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will
give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.

Five for Friday

1.  It's the kids fall break so we have spent some time doing nothing which has been so nice and very much needed.
Hi fall break. The Spence family is glad to see you. We really needed a day where we have nothing planned and we can sleep in, move slowly, stay in our pjs and just play together. I may be ready for school again tomorrow but for today we are glad you are

2. We stopped by the pumpkin patch to pick out some pumpkins for our home. I think I found the cutest pumpkins in the patch. I found the cutest pumpkins in the patch.

3. Last weekend David and I got away to NYC for a weekend trip to see his buddy from Fellowship get married. I will do a blogpost on it but it was such a great weekend. New York City!!! #nokids

 4. The boys love wearing jerseys and "sport" shorts so it was really fun to wear daddy's old jerseys from when he was little. We actually wore them on tacky day at school not because we thought his jerseys were tacky but because of the mismatch of our outfit. Tacky day at the boy's school. They are wearing David's jerseys from when he was a little boy. Maggie wanted to be in the picture too.

5.  Life with kids often entails bringing along a friend when you go out to dinner.  This is Spot, Miller's class "pet".

Happy Friday friends!

Uncle Toph

What can we say about Uncle Toph besides he is the best!  He drove in from Nashville for the weekend of Austin's birthday campout because he wanted to be a part of the celebration.  He made sure to include all the kids when he purchased little treats for them.  We were so glad he was here to be a part of the weekend.  So thankful he now lives so close and we can see him more often.

Mississippi River

We spent a beautiful Sunday afternoon on Mud Island down by the Mississippi River.  My kids love running and playing down there so we try to go every once in a while.  After running along the river and playing lots of tag and chase we headed to Movie and Pizza Company for dinner.  It was a perfect night to sit outside and enjoy the breeze.

The boys found a huge ant hill and Maggie was transfixed by it.

If there is open space than you can bet my boys are running free and wild.

Daddy then talked to him on the bench about being a good loser and that you can't win everytime you do something.  He also talked about being the younger brother since he was one too.

Five for Friday

1.  Two weekends ago David and I went to a function for our kids school.  I helped that morning decorating the room and getting everything set up.

We had a great night together.

2. These two are 2 peas in a pod. I loved seeing their little relationship flourish last weekend when it was just the 2 of them. He is still learning how to be gentle with her but overall he is so sweet to her. The cutest lightning bolt with his sidekick. #ipcsoccer

3. Last weekend Miller was invited to a birthday party where they decorated pumpkins. Maggie was just along for the fun but you better bet she made her way into the decorating. I looked away for a second and she walked over, found a pumpkin, moved it next to Miller and sat down ready to paint. Untitled
They didn't have any extra shirts so I just stripped her down to paint.  You can tell by her smile that she loved it.

4.  So proud of my big guy...he is confident on his bike now and doing great.  He took lap after lap by himself last weekend at the park.

5.  One of David's co-fellows from Boston is getting married this weekend in NYC and we are going!  We are flying out later today and staying for the weekend.  Can't wait for a little get away with my favorite guy without kids.
