Our favorite person in the whole world is taking a HUGE test today in Chicago and we are wishing him the best of luck!  We believe in you and know that you will do great!  Love from your biggest fan club!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to the best dad I know.  To say we are blessed by David is an understatement...he truly is the the most incredible father.  Thank you for loving us each and every day.  We love you!

We are also blessed by an amazing Dingdad who is always teaching us and loving us.  This ride called life is way more fun because you are in it.

Happy Father's Day to my dad as well.  We are thankful for you.

Happy birthday daddy and Aunt Anne!

Today is a great day...it is the birthday of our most favorite person in the world...our daddy. It is also the birthday of his very favorite sister...Aunt Anne! Happy birthday to these 2 wonderful people!!! We can't wait to celebrate the two of you!

First Camp-out Experience

The boys had their first camp-out experience on Friday night.  Dingdad and Yaya built a new sunroom/porch and on top of it is a roof with a little gate all around it.  Dingdad thought that would be the perfect place to set up a tent and sleep under the stars.  The boys were thrilled to say the least.  We headed over to their house after naps on Friday to get everything ready.  They enjoyed watching/helping Dingdad set up the tent.

We ate dinner together and then they settled in to sleep.  David said it took them a while to settle down and go to sleep but once they fell asleep they did great.  Austin woke up once cold but besides that they slept all the way through the night.

When Miller woke up the next morning the first thing he said was "this is the best day ever".  I think they both had a great first camp-out experience and are ready to do it again.  Austin has already said his 6th birthday will be a camp-out party with 2 of his little friends.

Maggie, Yaya, and I slept inside in our warm beds and that was just perfect with us.

True joy

We spent last Saturday at Shelby Farms park. The boys loved being outside and David and I loved the fresh air as well. The sequence of pictures below make me think of the word Joy...the boys and David are both showing so much joy in these pictures. I am truly so thankful for a husband and father who loves and adores his boys and knows how important it is to spend quality time with them. So thankful!

Portsmouth, NH

Another trip we took that I haven't had time to blog about was Portsmouth, NH. Another beautiful place in New England.  On the water with great food, fun shops, and only an hour and half away.  If you ask the boys their favorite part, they always say the hotel.

Our sweet friends had visited and told us how beautiful the area was so we decided to check it out ourselves.  We headed up on Saturday morning and made it in time to enjoy lunch in the city. Our restaurant had a beautiful view so the boys enjoyed watching the boats come into the harbor.
After a great lunch we headed to our hotel to check in and try to nap.  You can tell from the picture below that naps didn't happen.  They were too excited to be in their hotel and together.
The city, area, and coast were beautiful. We enjoyed walking around and peeking in the little shops and exploring the area. We had another great dinner where Austin had a lobster roll for the first time. This is a really big deal because I am highly allergic to all seafood so I have been scared to let the boys eat it but our pediatrician said it was time to introduce it to both of them.  Austin has been talking about eating crab, lobster, and shrimp for a while so he was super excited to have a lobster roll.

After dinner we walked around and enjoyed the view of the boats in the harbor.
We went back to the hotel and put the boys down to sleep and David and I enjoyed a little date in the hotel lobby/bar. We kept the monitor on so we could hear them if they woke up and enjoyed spending time just the two of us.
 
The next morning we enjoyed breakfast at our hotel. Austin was showing me his incredible Hulk impression.

After breakfast we walked around and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine while the boys scooted through the town square.
 
Daddy loved spending great quality time with his boys on Father's Day.  
After a morning walk/scoot we drove to the nearby lighthouse and fort. It was truly beautiful. The boys loved running around and seeing the old fort and views of the ocean.
We stopped for lunch at a little seafood restaurant right on a lake. The boys enjoyed being on the dock while we waited for lunch. This is the only place that said they didn't know if I would be safe eating at their restaurant because everything they made touched some kind of seafood and I definitely felt some tingling in my throat even by just eating a salad. =)
It was a great 2 day trip that everyone enjoyed.  A definite place to visit in New England.

*And yes, this trip was taken in the middle of June and we were all chilly so wore our fleece's and long pants.  Definitely not the temperature in Memphis in June.
