Comfort and Joy

I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will
give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

David and I hosted Christmas dinner a couple days early in our home so my brother could be a part of it. It was so special to use my grandmother's china this year.  My grandparents gave me their wedding china when David and I got married and we are using it more and more since we moved into our home.  I asked for Christmas for a few more pieces that I was missing.

We loved having Uncle Toph in town a couple days before Christmas. Unfortunately he had to work Christmas Day so couldn't stay through Christmas. DSC_0162 DSC_0166 DSC_0168 DSC_0175 IMG_2062
On Christmas Eve we went to our church for the Christmas Eve Service. IMG_2067 IMG_2066 IMG_2065 DSC_0165

The next morning we woke up to enjoy opening presents with Gigi, Yaya, Dingdad, and Uncle Matt.DSC_0204 DSC_0206 DSC_0207 IMG_2086 DSC_0210 DSC_0212 DSC_0214 IMG_2085 DSC_0218 After we finished up opening gifts we headed down to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital to hand out presents to children admitted on Christmas day. We love doing this with the boys and allowing them to give back a little on a day that you receive so much. IMG_2082
After Christmas we spent a couple days with the cousins which is always a highlight of our Christmas break. IMG_2108

Christmas tradition

For the last 2 years Halley and I have taken the girls down to the Peabody to see the ducks and then to lunch.  We hope when they are older to do the Nutcracker with them.  It is such a precious tradition that I love doing.

You can tell we bribed them with fruit snacks to sit for the pictures and then say hi to the duckmaster. DSC_0246 DSC_0250 DSC_0252 DSC_0254

Christmas programs

We had lots of Christmas programs this year with 2 boys in school and involved in church choir.  We enjoyed watching the boys perform in all of them.

Our church one was first at the beginning of December.DSC_0178
Both boys were shepherds. Austin was next to the little boy in camo (towards the left) and Miller was 5 to the right of Austin.  DSC_0173 IMG_1874 Maggie enjoyed watching the performance.
