Comfort and Joy

I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will
give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.

Austin's big boy room

David and I have been working hard on Austin's big boy room and finished it this past weekend. We moved Austin into the old guest room/office and baby boy #3 will inherit the nursery. I am very happy with how his room turned out.

The two paintings below were both done by David. He painted the boy and dog (in the black frame) a couple years ago and we love how it goes perfect in Austin's room now. He painted the airplane painting this weekend. I love that Austin has 2 paintings that were done by his dad out of pure love for his boy.

We bought black out curtains in navy and had the glider chair below recovered. I touched up the dresser and added new knobs and handles. The prints above the dresser were from a set of Alphabet Tool Cards the Spence's gave us. We also bought a new side table and changed out the knob for something a little more fun.

David painted the airplane painting above the twin bed. I am so impressed by his talent. He did a great job on it.

We moved the initial paintings my friend Beth did from the nursery to his big boy room.

The crib and twin bedding came from Pottery Barn kids.

We added his books and some knick knacks to his bookshelf.

Austin has done well making the transition to his new room. He goes in there numerous times a day to play.

videos of Austin being silly

We are busy getting Austin's big boy room ready. He will have a twin bed and a crib in his new room. We put him in the crib the other night and he had the best time playing. In the video you can hear him trying to talk. He says, "Ready, Set, Go", "Sit Sadie", and "Daddy" (all in his own way). He is such a happy little guy.
This video shows the disobedient side of Austin. You can see his little face watching David and I to see what we will do.
I really was going to stop the video and get him if I thought he was going to climb out of the crib. David commented that I was like the people on America's Funniest Videos that keeps taping even when something bad is about to happen. I would for sure get him, I was right there =)
