David has always been the most amazing father to our boys. I am constantly in awe of the way he loves them, teaches them, plays with them, and even disciplines them with love. He is also wonderful with our friends kids as well. This was at a Christmas breakfast we went to in our neighborhood the other day. They all wanted in his lap so he could read to them.
Comfort and Joy
I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will
give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.

trying to get a pic
The other night David and I tried to get a picture of the boys in their matching outfits (which David is not a fan of the matching outfits but I love it). They did not want to cooperate. I am noticing a theme here, Austin not being a fan of having his picture taken. Oh well, thought I would still share my cute boys.

He's going to be active
In the last few weeks Miller has become an active little guy. Always reaching for anything in sight. We brought down the Exersaucer and Jumperoo and he LOVES them. He loves playing with all the toys (chewing on most of them). It is so fun watching him learn and explore new things.

Please pray
Dear friends of ours lost their baby girl last Thursday morning. She never woke up. The autopsy confirmed that she had meningitis. I am heartbroken for them. Evie Grace was 20 months old and had a twin sister. Today was the visitation, funeral, and burial. I went to the Visitation, David went to everything. I couldn't stay at the Funeral. It hit way to close to home. David is stronger than me and I am so proud of him for being there for them. Please pray for the Harrison's. Pray for God's loving grip to be felt so strongly by both of them. Pray for their other little girl Ramsey. Pray for their marriage. Pray for their extended family. Pray that their house sells (it has been on the market for a little while). Pray for them to hold strong to each other and to the Lord. Just pray.

Miller's baptism
Last Sunday Miller was baptized at our church. Our pastor Richie did a great job. It was a beautiful service and both boys did incredible. They were quiet, attentive, and precious. I was proud of both of them.

Reverand Richie Sessions introducing Miller to the congregration (Miller was trying to chew Richie's tie and microphone).
Our family after the service.
As you can tell from the pictures, Miller only has eyes for his brother. Austin is his favorite thing to watch.
The baptismal gown is 100 years old. It has been passed down through my mother's side of the family. Her grandmother made it over 100 years ago. My mother's father wore it along with my mother, myself, my 2 brothers, and now my 2 sons. It is very special to me.

This Sunday our Young Adults Pastor spoke a little on infant baptism and I wanted to post that here. I couldn't get enough of what he had to say.

From Parker Tenent:
The Covenant of Grace is not only for us but for our children. God promises that our children are sons and daughters of the Covenant. He pursues them. We should have faith and confidence that our children who are baptized will one day choose to follow the Lord. He will pursue them and capture their heart through His grace. He means good for all our children. It doesn't mean they won't feel pain or experience deep sadness but He will be faithful to His promises that He will work all good for His purpose.
From Acts 2:36-41:
“Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.” When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.” With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.
David and I pray daily that our boys would come to know the Lord at an early age. That they would never remember a day that they didn't profess Jesus as their Savior. What a joy it will be to hear my boys singing praises to the Mighty King.

Lake Weekend
Every year for the last several years David and I have gotten together with my 4 best friends from college and their husbands for a relaxing weekend at the McGuigans lakehouse just east of Nashville. We pretty much sit by the fire, make smores, laugh a lot, relax and do a lot of nothing, while the boys play Cornhole and watch football. This year all the kids stayed with their grandparents except for the youngest babies, Carter and Miller. It was such a wonderful weekend and one I look forward to every year. I will miss this weekend next year when we are in Boston (hopefully they will come to Boston instead =).
My friend Beth took all the pictures above except for the first two. She is super talented.

Birthday Party Fun
Austin went to a birthday party last Sunday for his friend AJ. AJ turned 4 and Austin felt pretty cool that he was invited to a 4 year olds birthday party. He really tried to keep up with all the big kids at the party. I think this is the first party where he really got the concept of it. He understood that you sing, eat cupcakes, open presents, and play. It was really fun to see him interact and take it all in.
Starting to eat cheetos (for the first time) and he LOVED them. Probably better than the cupcake.

Can you say messy!

Happy Birthday AJ!
