Comfort and Joy
I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will
give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.

getting ready...
I am in the throes of getting ready for the Forrest Spence 5k. The big event is this Saturday and right now, on Tuesday evening, we have 705 participants registered...I mean are you kidding!!! That is amazing! I am humbled, amazed, excited, and eager for the event to get here. We work on this for 8 months of the year so its crazy that its only 4 days away. If you haven't registered yet, its not too late. Tomorrow night online registration closes so go register. You won't regret knowing you are making a difference in the lives of others.

Boston adventures...Charles River
Last Saturday we went on an adventure to the Charles River. It is a beautiful river with tons of green space around it. I copied this from the web...Brandeis University, Harvard University, Boston University, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology are all located along the Charles River. Near its mouth, it forms the border between downtown Boston and Cambridge and Charlestown (a neighborhood of Boston). Here, the river opens out into a broad basin and is lined by the parks of the Charles River Reservation. On the Charles River Esplanade stands the Hatch Shell, where concerts are given in summer evenings. The basin is especially known for its Independence Day celebration.
Ok, now the non technical part. It is beautiful and a great place to run, bike, stroll, and take picnics. We packed a picnic and strolled along the river until we found a great place to sit. The boys loved watching all the people running, the boats passing by, and the ducks and geese swiming. David and I loved being together as a family enjoying our new city.

More of Miller's 1 year pics
I just received the CD in the mail for Miller's 1 year pics and I am in love!!! Beth did such a great job capturing their spirit, joy, love, energy, and zest for life. God knew what He was doing when He gave me these 2 little guys. I have been so blessed by the life of all three of my boys. I put a few more of my favorites on here but click on the link at the bottom if you want to see all of them.
All three of my boys have loved a certain "lovie" or blanket.
This is Austin's.
and this is Miller's.
Eat my heart out with this one Look at that little personality shining through.
Click on the link to see the rest of the pictures.
Thank you again Beth! So thankful we have these pictures!

Boston apartment
We love our little apartment in Boston. It is perfect for our family.
This is looking at our house. 3 apartments share one front door and on the other side, 3 apartments share that front door.
We are the green door. Our door to our apartment is inside the green door to the left. You can see it in the window by the front door.
This is a view of the entire house.
This is the door to our basement where we keep our bikes and stroller. I spend a lot of time and strength everyday lifting our double stroller in and out of that basement.
This is a picture from the bottom of the street looking at our apartment (these are all multi-family homes meaning anywhere from 3-6 families live in each house). To the right of the picture is the parking lot where we park our car.
This is the parking lot at the end of the street where we park our car. Parking in the city is a big deal so you purchase a parking space (expensive) so you have somewhere to park it. Where we live you can't leave your car on the street at night or it gets towed or a ticket.
This is a park at the end of the street where we love to play. It is a hidden gem. It has 2 playgrounds, one for toddlers and one for older kids along with a sandbox and sprinkler pad. We love it.
This is a view from the playground to the parking lot. You can see that we are very close to both our favorite playground and our parking lot.
This is a picture from our kitchen looking at the front door. Our apartment is narrow and long.
The first room on the left when you walk in is our den. (I did not clean up perfectly so don't mind the mess).
The first room on the right is the kids bathroom.
The second room on the left is our bedroom. We have a door between the 2 bedrooms.
The third door on the left is the boys room. Their room is connected to ours as well.
Couldn't have the boys room without Forrest's special things.
The second room on the right is our bathroom. Storage is definitely an issue in cities so we are storing things everywhere. There is nostorage in our bathroom.
The last room at the end of the hall is our kitchen. It has plenty of storage which is great. We love our kitchen.
This is looking from the back of the apartment towards the hallway.
When you walk into our kitchen, our playroom/office is to the right. It's supposed to be a dining room but at this phase in our life, a playroom was much more needed. We love it!
All that's left is for people to come visit so come on!
