2 weeks!!!

I went to the OB this morning and our little guy is doing great. He is estimated to weigh 7 lbs 2 ounces right now and I am 1 cm dilated. We set the induction date for June 22. 2 weeks from today!!! I only have 1 appointment left until he enters this world!

I can't wait to meet Miller. I am thrilled to see my boys meet for the first time. I wish so badly Forrest was here to experience the birth of his 2nd baby brother. I know he is smiling down on our family though.

Fun Saturday

Last Saturday we had a fun and packed day. We woke up that morning and headed to Gibson's (best donut shop in Memphis) and then headed downtown for the Farmer's Market. This was our first time there and really enjoyed it. We only purchased a few things but enjoyed the experience.

After the Farmer's Market we ate lunch at The Arcade, a famous diner on Front Street. (I didn't take a picture here).

After naps for the whole family, we packed up and headed to Levitt Shell for a fun concert just for kids. We picked up dinner and met some friends to listen to some music.

We had a nice day as a family. Trying to soak up these last few Saturdays before Miller makes his presence =).

Austin loves playing ball of any kind.  If there is a ball around, he is going to find it and play with it.  We have a hard time getting him not to throw everything he plays with.  He found a football and a beach ball at our friends house the other day and wanted to throw them to daddy.

it's summer here

You can tell from this photo that it is hot in Memphis. Austin came in from playing outside the other day and his face was beet red. I kept trying to stick his head in the freezer and put cold rags on him because I was afraid he was going to over heat but David told me he was fine (over protective mom =). I guess I will have to get used to this little red face with how hot it gets in Memphis and how active Austin gets.

So Austin is the 15% of the population who gets Chicken Pox even though he was vaccinated. We started seeing little red bumps on him Tuesday but just thought it was a little rash (he has had a lot of rashes in his lifetime). By Wednesday there were a few more so we decided to take him to a friends house who is a Pediatrician. He took one look at him and said he thought it was chicken pox. I completely lost it thinking back to the days when I had chicken pox and how terrible it is. I was also unsure of how it would affect baby Miller and I being 8 months pregnant. Well, the vaccination covers 85% of the population of never getting it and the 15% who do get it, get a very mild case of it. He only has around 20 spots and has still been as happy as can be. You would never know he was sick. His tummy itched on Wednesday but hasn't itched today and there are no new bumps. David took him to our Pediatrician this morning and he said it was definitely chicken pox but that he was no longer contagious because they were starting to scab and no new bumps had popped up. We are sad he has it but thankful that it is not a big deal. I felt terrible having to call his Mothers Day Out and a few friends to let them know their child(ren) had been exposed because of Austin. I would never have taken him around other children if I thought he had chicken pox. We have no idea where he got it. Of course, our little guy would fall in the 15% =(.

less than a month to go

Miller will be here in less than a month. The plan is to induce me around June 22 or 23. My doctor likes to induce me a week early so he can control how fast my labor goes. It is very important for me to get 2 rounds of antibiotics over a 6 hour period before Miller makes his entrance. We are so ready to meet the little guy. I can't wait to see what Austin thinks of him.

We would covet your prayers over the next 4 weeks as we prepare to meet our 3rd son. There are so many mixed emotions as we get ready for his birth. Excited, scared, anxious, thrilled, eager...you name the emotion...and I have probably felt it. I am confident in the Lord and know that His plan is far greater than mine but I sure would love to bring Miller home with us on day 2 and have no extended NICU stay. Please pray that he is healthy. Pray too for my fears...I know those are not from the Lord. Satan knows my fears and tries to bring terrible thoughts in my head. Thank you to everyone who has followed our story from the beginning and has kept our little family in your prayers. We are forever grateful.
