Comfort and Joy

I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will
give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.

Blue Angels Airshow

We went to the Airshow in Millington to see the Blue Angels fly.  The kids LOVED it!  The cousins were in town so everyone went (except Maggie).

It was a great afternoon.  The boys were in their happy place along with some of their very favorite people.

Life lately

I have so much to catch up on so I will start with a post with random pictures.

1.  This one is too funny.  This is her in a woman's restroom after eating a cookie in a store.

2.  I had a little outpatient surgery on my foot last week.  Some things I learned about myself when I'm waking up from anesthesia.
1.  It bothers my stomach (insert dry heaves).
2.  I get highly emotional (insert crying).
3.  I'm overly kind (thankful that I was overly kind and not overly mean)
4.  I spell everything (h.u.r.t; k.i.d.s, w.h.e.r.e's d.a.v.i.d)
5.  Most people don't communicate through spelling and would rather speak in complete sentences.

Five for Friday

1.  It's the kids fall break so we have spent some time doing nothing which has been so nice and very much needed.
Hi fall break. The Spence family is glad to see you. We really needed a day where we have nothing planned and we can sleep in, move slowly, stay in our pjs and just play together. I may be ready for school again tomorrow but for today we are glad you are

2. We stopped by the pumpkin patch to pick out some pumpkins for our home. I think I found the cutest pumpkins in the patch. I found the cutest pumpkins in the patch.

3. Last weekend David and I got away to NYC for a weekend trip to see his buddy from Fellowship get married. I will do a blogpost on it but it was such a great weekend. New York City!!! #nokids

 4. The boys love wearing jerseys and "sport" shorts so it was really fun to wear daddy's old jerseys from when he was little. We actually wore them on tacky day at school not because we thought his jerseys were tacky but because of the mismatch of our outfit. Tacky day at the boy's school. They are wearing David's jerseys from when he was a little boy. Maggie wanted to be in the picture too.

5.  Life with kids often entails bringing along a friend when you go out to dinner.  This is Spot, Miller's class "pet".

Happy Friday friends!

Uncle Toph

What can we say about Uncle Toph besides he is the best!  He drove in from Nashville for the weekend of Austin's birthday campout because he wanted to be a part of the celebration.  He made sure to include all the kids when he purchased little treats for them.  We were so glad he was here to be a part of the weekend.  So thankful he now lives so close and we can see him more often.

Mississippi River

We spent a beautiful Sunday afternoon on Mud Island down by the Mississippi River.  My kids love running and playing down there so we try to go every once in a while.  After running along the river and playing lots of tag and chase we headed to Movie and Pizza Company for dinner.  It was a perfect night to sit outside and enjoy the breeze.

The boys found a huge ant hill and Maggie was transfixed by it.

If there is open space than you can bet my boys are running free and wild.

Daddy then talked to him on the bench about being a good loser and that you can't win everytime you do something.  He also talked about being the younger brother since he was one too.
