Two weekends ago I had a girls weekend with 2 of my best friends and college roommates. We met in Atlanta (I actually drove through Nashville to pick Kacee up) and had a wonderful weekend just catching up, shopping, and eating great food.
We started on Friday night at a restaurant called The Optimist. It was very hip and delicious. We laughed a ton because there was valet parking every where we went and I drove my minivan and most of the cars we saw were not minivans...more like Porsche's, BMW's, etc. I had to remind others that just because I drove a minivan didn't mean I wasn't cool. =)
One of the best mixed drinks I had ever had.
We tried ending the night at the famous ice cream shop called Jenis but it was closed. We made sure to hit it up the next afternoon though. We instead had a midnight dessert at Sprinkles...the famous cupcake shop. We ordered a cupcake from an ATM machine. Thankful they don't have that in Memphis...it would potentially kill me.
Saturday night we enjoyed dinner at Wisteria. I loved this place. The food was delicious and our waiter was great. The girls made sure I felt very loved since my birthday was 2 days later.
We ended the night by hitting up CVS...all the delicious food had done a number on me with heartburn...nothing like feeling your age when the waiters are all telling you the cool clubs to go to and you are searching for the closest drugstore for heartburn medicine. While at CVS we ran into Ving Rhames. He is in a ton of movies and I recognized that he was someone famous right when he got out of his car but I couldn't place him right away. I actually told Kacee I thought it was Evander Holyfield =). I finally figured out it was Ving Rhames from the Mission Impossible movies. He was so nice and even told us to ask his girlfriend if it was all right for us to get a picture with him.
It was a great weekend and so much fun to just get away with girls that have known you for 16 years. These 2 have been through so much with me and I am so thankful for their never wavering love, guidance, and friendship!
