Five for Friday

1.  I still haven't seen Hunger Games...are you kidding me?!?  I'm dying to see it but we just haven't had a chance yet.  Really hoping this is the weekend.


2.  I love drinking a cup of coffee but never seem to finish one...imagine that...my crazy boys must need me.  This is often the view my husband gets when he comes home from work....I reheated my coffee but forgot about it and left it in there for the rest of the day.  I can do this sometimes 3 times a day.  This so reminds me of my grandmother...she did this all the time.

Side note, isn't this the best coffee cup?!?  A sweet lady that followed our story when we were in the hospital with Forrest brought it to the hospital to give to us.  We didn't know her from Eve and thought it was a little strange but now I LOVE it!  I use it every single day...I love that I see my precious little guys face every morning when I wake up.  


3.  Sponsor letters have been emailed out for the Forrest Spence 5k!  Woo woo!  The date is set for August 25...its going to be the best ever.  If you are interested in sponsoring the 5k than send me an email (brittany at forrestspencefund.com) and I will make sure you receive a Sponsor packet.


4.  Austin has been a pistol lately.  Thankfully he was super good when his daddy was out of town but then this week he has turned back into a pistol.  I thought we were going to have a knock down drag out in the middle of Boston Gardens on Wednesday after bible study...please tell me its just him being 3 and that this too shall pass.


5.  Love these 2 even though they are hard, hard, hard sometimes!

Life Lately

Sweet friends at Bible Study-majority of the kids are boys and my 2 love that!

David flew out to California for 4 days so the morning before he left we had a daytime date.  It was wonderful.  We had brunch together and then walked around the Boston Gardens.

On Saturday we spent the morning with our friends the Meduri's.  David was out of town and Chris was working so it was great to spend time with them.  The boys once again loved sitting on the Ducks.
We love the Boston Gardens.  We have spent so much time there lately.  Definitely one of our favorite places in Boston.  We will miss it terribly when we leave.

Sweet, sweet friends.  We are so blessed by this precious friendship.  What would we do without the Meduri's in our lives.

Boston Marathon weekend...epic...truly epic.  I don't know if I have ever experienced anything quite like this.  Another post coming about this.

David was still out of town on Sunday so the boys and I packed a lunch, our scooters, and headed to church.  After church they rode their scooters to the Boston Gardens (I told you we love this place) and saw our favorite Music Man.  The boys love him and could watch him forever.

After watching the Music Man we picked out a good spot to have a picnic.  The boys love to people watch (and duck watch) so it was a great day for this.  The Garden was packed with tourists and tons of marathon people.

Then while trying to get on the T we realized that there was a 1:00 RedSox Game and could not get on our D train.  It was comical as I tried to manuever 2 kids, 2 scooters, a stroller, and our bags.  We eventually jumped on the B train and then switched to a completely empty D train at Kenmore.  The boys loved sitting like big kids on the train instead of sitting in the stroller.

Our new way to get to and from places...the scooters.  The boys are both great at them and a huge plus...it wears them out so they sleep like a champ.  Austin literally rode his all over Boston on Sunday.    This is my view from behind.

Easter

I unfortunately didn't take any pictures of our family on Easter.  Definitely disappointed about that but I do have a few pictures of the day.

We woke up bright and early to make it to the early service at our church. It was a beautiful service. We miss IPC but are thankful for a wonderful church in Boston that preaches the gospel. After church we came home to prepare Easter lunch. We were having our friends the Meduri's over for lunch. The boys helped me make the resurrection rolls.
Lunch was wonderful and so fun to share with our friends.

We decided this year to do one big gift for Easter instead of a bunch of little gifts in their basket that they will just break or throw away.  It was definitely more than we usually spend but I will tell you, they are possibly the best thing I have ever bought for my boys.

They are mini Kick Scooters.  The boys LOVE them and so do I.  Since they received them we have spent more time outside riding their scooters and they are both napping and sleeping great.  That alone is worth the price of the scooter.  They are easy to manuever and both boys (even Miller who isn't even 2 yet) can manuever it well.

After naps we took them out for the first time and they did great. They have since improved tremendously and ride them really well.

We bought a house...

Isn't it beautiful?!?








Just kidding...this is one of the many mansions we saw in Newport, RI.  Two Saturdays ago our little family took a day trip to Newport, RI.  What a precious city!  Beautiful, quaint, surrounded by water, fun little shops, amazing mansions.

We woke up early Saturday morning and hit the road.
We did a little research on the way down and figured out the things we wanted to see the most.  The 10 Mile Loop, the many mansions, a restaurant our upstairs neighbors recommended, the beach, and a little shopping. Unfortunately with two small children the shopping didn't really happen but we did do everything else we wanted to do. This precious church was in the middle of Thames Street. Really beautiful.

After we walked up and down Thames Street we stopped at the restaurant our neighbors recommended, Brick Alley Pub. They were right, the nachos were delicious.
 
The boys enjoyed sitting on the same side as their daddy. 

We then got back in the car and started the drive of the 10 mile loop. This was during typical nap time so we were hopeful that the boys would fall asleep and they did. That means we did the 10 mile loop 5 times. We will do about anything to get a nap in for our guys.
The mansions were truly incredible. Beautiful estates with gorgeous homes, tons of land, and amazing views.

We then stopped at the beach for the boys to play for a little while. Unfortunately the clouds rolled in and made the temperature drop so we didn't last very long.

We are so thankful that New England has these precious towns so close to Boston that we can explore for the day.  It was a great way to spend a Saturday with my family.

Five for Friday

Sorry for the lack of posts this week.  Life has been a little crazy.  Hoping to get our Easter weekend up soon.

Five for Friday
1.  It's hard to be a swim lesson instructor and have to watch from the sidelines.  I am dying to get in there and show him that he can do it.  I am restraining from doing what I did last time.


2.  We built a train track that took up our den.  The boys have loved playing with it.


 3. Loving the beautiful weather in Boston and hoping it stays for good. I am ready to hang up the down coats, gloves, and hats.

 4. Signs of Spring are in Boston but there is still a need for a coat. Even the ducks have on their Spring hats.


5.  We do a lot of waiting on the T.  The boys don't mind...they love watching the outbound trains go by.  I also think they take after their mommy and like to people watch.
