The boys and I drove to Hernando, MS to meet my best friend and her youngest at Cedar Hill Farm (this is the same Pumpkin Patch we drove to last week and wasn't open). We had a blast! I planned on only staying till a little after lunch so we could make it home for naps but we decided we were having too much fun to make it home in time for naps. There were so many fun things to do and the weather was great as well.
Neither one of us brought a stroller so we decided pulling them in a wagon was the next best thing.
We started off with a hayride out to the patch to pick our pumpkins.
There was a pirate ship to play on that the boys loved.
We then walked over to the patch to pick the perfect pumpkin. Sweet Austin took forever making a decision. He couldn't make up his mind on the perfect one.
Miller and Charlie found the perfect ones pretty quickly.
We then rode the hayride back with our new pumpkins.
We took a break to eat lunch and play on their new playground. The boys LOVED the new slide.
We then spent some time at the petting zoo (definitely my least favorite part of the day, I do not enjoy feeding the farm animals).
Another highlight was the choo choo train that rode around a small part of the farm. The boys enjoyed pretending to drive it.
My precious Thiefs!
We then moved on to the pig races. Farmer Joe chose Miller to represent the black team by holding the black bandanna. Our team didn't ever win...poor black pigs were too slow.
After our team lost all 3 races we went to ride a pony. I bought tickets when we first got there for both Austin and Miller but Austin didn't want anything to do with it. Neither Austin (4) nor Charlie (3) would ride the ponies but Miller rode twice. He loved it!
Ride #2
It was truly a great day. I highly recommend making the drive to visit Cedar Hill Farm.
