GNO stands for Girls Night Out but in my case it was Girls Night In. The week before my family came in town I had 3 girlfriends over for craft night. These 3 girls are precious to me and I am so thankful to have them in my life in Boston. They are all from the South and have been transplanted here for a short period of time. I am the shortest time with 1 year, Molly is 1-2 years, Stephanie and Audra are both 4-5 years. I knew Audra and Stephanie from UT but just met Molly in Boston. All of our husbands are in the medical field. It has been so nice having these 3 and their precious children in our lives. So the girls came over to try and make this wreath I saw on my friends FB page.
Unfortunately, ours didn't look anything like this because I bought the wrong kind of burlap. I think it looks like a rats nest.
If you know me well than you know I am not Martha Stewart. I wish I had some craftiness in me but I really don't. I can follow directions well so that's why I thought I could follow the blog directions on how to make it. It doesn't matter how well you follow directions if you don't have the right type of burlap. So it ended up being a complete fail for the craft but we enjoyed sitting around talking, eating, and drinking.
I decided the next day to purchase the correct burlap and try it again. This time it worked with a little glue gun action (I told you I wasn't Martha Stewart) and looks pretty cute hanging in my kitchen window. Just a little Fall decoration in our apartment.
Let me know if you try it. It really was easy with the correct kind of burlap.

Ha ha ha! I laughed out loud when I saw your "rat's nest"! Your second wreath is adorable and I'm so glad you didn't give up! I didn't know there were different kinds of burlap. What's the right kind?
Yep, laughed out loud at the "rat's nest" comment.
you are so funny! I laughed out loud when I saw your 1st attempt at the wreath. I am sure it made for an interesting but fun girls night in. Miss you in Memphis but so glad you have some close friends to keep you company up there ;)
