Comfort and Joy

I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will
give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.
Jeremiah 31:13

One of the reasons I'm having a hard time finding time to blog...

Untitled Untitled
A couple things...
1. our elf's name is trainductor, short for train conductor...they picked it when they were little.
2. I always said I wouldn't resort to using things like this to get my children to act right...I lied.
3. the elf did come back but most nights he's not sure he wants to return to the craziness of the Spence household.
4.  I wrote this with my left hand on the only piece of paper I could find...an envelope.

-Hoping to be back with the rest of Disney and the 5,000 things we have been doing to get ready for Christmas.

Ugh. I have to tell "Buddy" multiple times a day that he MUST go tell Santa about all the whining, fussing, tattling, etc, that is going on at our house!

Hilarious. You know, I balked at the elf and wanted to keep Christmas more Christ-centered. So every night we search for Mary & Joseph as they make the trek to Bethlehem (Our Little People nativity, which is in the den, but M&J started Advent at the far end of the house and are hiding somewhere closer each night.) I was real proud of myself. Well, we're in our 3rd year of it and the girls love it, but I'm sure I've actually screwed up their theology even more than Santa or an Elf could. M&J bring a little sweet treat each night (along with the next couple verses of Luke 2 - ya know, keepin' it real) and I definitely threaten that M&J might not bring a treat if they aren't good, don't eat their veggies, etc. Way to make even Mary & Joseph's giving conditional, mom!!! Man, we need Jesus, don't we!?!?
