Comfort and Joy

I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will
give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.

The real Walden Pond

We made it to the real Walden Pond...but unfortunately we weren't prepared.  We decided on the way to the airport (dropping Gigi off) that we wanted to drive to Walden Pond.  I didn't have a warm enough coat for myself and none of us were really dressed for hiking.  We weren't really sure what to expect with Walden Pond so I am glad we went and can now know what to bring for our return trip.  The double BOB stroller couldn't fit through the narrow pathways so we want to take the hiking backpacks next time.  Austin loved it though.  He loved running through the pathways, picking up sticks and leaves, and climbing up the hills.  I know he will love it when we return.  Hopefully in 2 weeks the leaves will have changed even a little bit more.  Boston is experiencing a later than usual season change with the leaves.

On the way back home we stopped at Chick-fil-a.  David thought it was a little crazy to drive over 15 minutes farther just to have Chick-fil-a but when you haven't had it in 3 months, you'll drive just about any distance.  You can tell Austin enjoyed it!

On Sunday we enjoyed church, a trip to Costco, a very relaxing afternoon, and our normal Sunday night dinner of banana pancakes made by David.  It was just what we needed!

Monday we met some friends at the Children's Museum.  We love this place.  It will be a God send this winter.  The boys run, play, laugh, and just enjoy being at such an amazing place for kids.  Here they are flying the plane.

David's brother Ryan and wife Corinne bought us a year membership and we are so thankful for it.  Thanks guys!

I used to drive so far to get to Chick-Fil-A or McAllisters (for sweet tea) in Cincinnati. It's amazing how much you miss little things like that. Walden Pond looks like a beautiful place to enjoy nature!
