Comfort and Joy

I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will
give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.

Life lately...

A little peek into our life lately...

The boys love painting with Do.A.Dot Art.  It's a great activity to do after the boys wake up from their naps and I'm trying to get dinner ready.
We love our do a dot art!
This particular day they didn't last very long doing Dots so we moved on quickly to Playdoh (which I really can't stand because of the mess it makes).  I found some recipes on Pinterest that say it won't break into a million pieces.  I may try to make some this week.  Short attention span...we are now onto playdoh.
Both boys got new kicks.  Austin's came in the mail before Miller's and he refused to wear them because they were new (he doesn't like change).  As soon as Miller's came he couldn't wait to put them on so that encouraged Austin to wear his too.  We are officially ready for it to warm up in Boston so we can wear our new shoes.
New kicks!
Miller has never really been into reading which is difficult because Austin loves to read but just in the last 2 weeks he has shown a great interest in it.  A couple mornings this week while I was getting ready I found him on Austin's bed reading his books.  This particular morning Austin read with him and I am so thankful I caught a picture of them together.
I caught a precious moment between my boys...reading together in the bed. Priceless.
On Friday we went to the Museum of Science with our friends William and Molly.  They have a season pass so they showed us all the cool exhibits.  The dinosaur exhibit was definitely one of their favorites.
Learning about dinosaurs
Of course the trains were a huge hit as well.Watching the train
We always have to spend time with the bones in honor of daddy. Seeing the skeletons...daddy would be proud
After we explored the exhibits we made our way down to the Kids Discovery Center.  It was a great place just for kids 5 & under.  Great activities for the little ones to do.  They had a wonderful water mountain where you could put balls, little fishes, boats, etc at the top of the mountain and it would make itself back down to you.  I think the boys could have stayed here forever.
Such a cool water table at the Museum of Science
After naps on Friday Miller and I had some cuddle time.  This is my cuddle bug.  He loves to be held after he wakes up from a nap.  It doesn't matter if he sleeps 3 good hours, he's still a little sad and wants to just be held for a little while.  I don't mind though...any chance to cuddle is ok by me.
Cuddles after naps
We woke up Saturday to a cold, gloomy day so we decided to head down the Wharfs and Aquarium.

We went to see our friends the Sea Lions first.  The boys love these guys.  They don't like when they are sleeping though.  No rest for the weary when my guys are around.
We love the sea lions Poor sea lions...they never get to rest when my boys are here.
One of the coolest things about the Aquarium is the large tank in the middle that is 4 stories high.  You can walk on a ramp that circles around all 4 stories.  Once you are to the top you can look down into the tank and see the animals and fish being fed.  The boys love watching the sea turtles.  This big guy below is over 70 years old and 500 pounds.

They have windows perfect for my little guys size to see inside the tank but still see over the top.

They also have a few exhibits where you can touch the sea life.  This exhibit you can touch hermit crabs, horseshoe crabs, starfish and a few other things.

Austin doesn't think he needs a nap anymore.  What do you think?  This is how I found him on Saturday afternoon.  Asleep on the ground, next to the bed.  The room was a disaster.  He had played hard and then just collapsed on a heap on the floor.
He says he doesn't need to nap anymore...he's asleep on the floor next to the bed. :) He played hard for sure.
After both boys were up they jumped on their daddy to wake him from his nap.

Enjoying a little ice cream on Sunday after naps.
Great way to end our weekend...eating ice cream with the family
Just a little peek into our lives...hope you had a great weekend as well.
