We had a nice 4th of July weekend. David was out of town for 5 days over the 4th so we spent quite a bit of time with my mom and David's parents. On Wednesday Gigi came over with lots of goodies to decorate the boys bikes and Maggie's stroller for the church parade and the neighborhood parade the next day.
Thursday morning we headed to the neighborhood parade with some friends and Gigi.
It was not easy on this momma. I spent majority of the time pushing the boys on their bikes instead of them pedaling.
They would both get nervous about tipping over, running into someone, or getting seperated from me so by the end of the parade I was exhausted. We then headed over to our friends cove to play on the most amazing water slide. Miller wouldn't go down it but Austin went down a few times.
We only stayed for about an hour because at one point both Miller and Maggie were seriously losing it and I couldn't handle it anymore. We headed home for naps.
After naps we went to Yaya and Dingdad's house and made homemade vanilla ice cream. The boys really enjoyed helping make it and of course loved the taste.
They both wanted me to video tape them churning the ice cream maker. Video below of Miller.
Video below of Austin.
That night Gigi, Yaya, and I took Austin to the firework show in Germantown. Miller was all set to go and right before he got in the van he decided he didn't want to go. I think he was scared of them. He still hears the word fireworks and gets a little nervous.
The next morning we woke up to cooler temperatures so we took the kids to Shelby Farms Park. It was a perfect morning to play there because it wasn't too terribly hot so the slides were cooled off.
It was a nice 4th weekend and we were so thankful for the help from Gigi, Yaya, and Dingdad but we sure were happy to see daddy on Sunday!
