Comfort and Joy

I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will
give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.

Five for Friday

1. Swim lessons are over.  I don't think we are going to take lessons again in Boston.  I think people in the Northeast have a different opinion of what swim lessons entail than I do.  I am disappointed that he's not swimming since he was so close before we left Memphis but I do think he can do it if I can work with him one on one back in Memphis.  He had fun though so that counts for something.

I do think I traumatized him from our last swim lessons.  He refused to put the life jacket on at this final swim lesson.  I think he was afraid his crazy mother would come and throw him in the water.  I was good though...I just sat on the side and watched.

2.  The video below of the boys riding their scooters is mainly for me to remember what a big part of our Boston life included scooters.

3.  I think my husband thinks the quote below is true about me.  I do try at least a couple times a week to look half way put together but I don't succeed often.  Even if I am put together I usually come home and change into my comfy clothes right away.

4.  Anybody else that is a mom (or dad) think this is so true but oh so hard?  Austin would LOVE for me to do everything for him and I know it would be easier on me if I actually did it all but I know he needs to learn how to do things on his own.  It often leads in tears from one or both of us but I have to remind myself often that I am helping him and not hurting him.

5.  We are going to miss the amazing parks and playgrounds in Boston.  There are an abundance of parks since people don't have backyards in the city.  We have 6 great ones within a 1/2 mile of our house.

Happy Friday friends!  Do something that makes you smile!

I laugh everytime you link back to your outburst at his first swimming lessons. I am sure he will do just fine once y'all are back in Memphis :)

We are actually doing them with Glenda Bugnitz this year and I am so glad we are getting back to a small group environment since doing in a group last year. Hoping Lilliana will love it as much as she did with you friend.

Miss y'all!
