Comfort and Joy

I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will
give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.

Update on Katie

I am posting the 2 updates I have received from Jeremy.  The first one came at 11:05 and the second came at 11:35.  Please pray for the issues she is having during PT.

Hello Everybody,

I know everyone has been waiting patiently for more news. Yesterday was good, but there really wasn't any news for most of the day. Katie was extremely groggy and, while she would respond if you woke her up, she could hardly keep her eyes open.

About 4:00 pm yesterday, she woke up. It was the first time I left her side, but I'm not taking it personally. Her momma and daddy were right there with her and I was visiting with our babies.

Katie is her old wonderfully beautiful self!  She is talking, seeing, smiling, walking, using the bathroom. There appears to be no lasting side effects. All we can do is raise our hands in praise!

Dr. Thompson- currently my new best friend- met with us last night. We saw the before and after MRI. The tumor that was once about the size of his fist is now the size of a fingernail. He said that for the most part, the tumor was cooperative, but at the very end there was a little bleeding and the part of the tumor they didn't get was around a corner and hiding from them.

As for the prognosis, I am floored. He said that his requirements for having a patient discharged is the ability to walk, eat, and use the bathroom and she is doing all three. He said hospitals are for sick people and that she would recover better at home. It would not be beyond the realm of possibility we could go home today or tomorrow. Because this is a benign tumor, they will get another MRI in a year, but there is no need for additional treatment.

Katie is still in some pain and is weak from surgery, but overjoyed in the work God has done to heal and restore her. Everyone on this list that has lifted her up in prayers has participated in this miracle. We can never doubt the power of prayer. We stand in awe at the power of our Lord and the work He has done through the hands of Dr. Thompson and the team at Vanderbilt.

I will continue to keep everyone posted as details come.

Pray for the physical therapy. They started working with her and she got dizzy- some coordination issues. They will be back shortly. Pray for strength and that she is okay.
